Roofs are coated for a number of reasons. Some are coated to preserve it from the damaging effects of the sun, some are coated to keep heating costs down, and some are coated to obtain new roof performance at a fraction of the cost of a new roof.
At JCJ Services LLC, we work with you to determine what your needs are, and how to fulfill your needs within your budget. We install roof coatings that can be part of an annual maintenance program or single-application coatings that come with a manufacturer's warranty of up to twenty-five (25) years. We have roof coatings that can be applied on metal, BUR, and rubber roofs, or over concrete, wood, and insulation. At JCJ Services, we will find the coating that is right for your commercial roofing in Middletown, Hartford, Windsor, CT and surrounding towns.
Flat or Low Slope Roof Coatings, also called Seamless Roof Systems, make up one of the largest growth sectors in the roofing industry today. This growth is fueled by new technologies, environmental preservation, and cost. New technologies have lead to innovative acrylic, elastomeric, epoxy, and silicone coatings that are far superior to the coatings of the past. Environmental preservation, in turn, has caused many companies to consider four factors in their roof renovation projects: waste, raw material use, fuel consumption, and future energy requirements for the facility. These environmental factors also impact costs.
The utilization of coatings can eliminate the need to remove the existing roof system, which reduces both the amount of waste generated and the cost to dispose of it. If the existing roof system remains, new insulation may not be required, which can reduce both the use of raw materials and energy to manufacture it. Eliminating waste disposal and new materials also eliminates the vehicular fuel consumption. The reduction in future energy use is probably the second most important factor in every renovation project.
White roof coatings dramatically decrease energy demand on air conditioning systems over black roofs and can result in the reduced consumption of our energy resources, as well as a decrease in carbon emissions from power plants. The most important factor in every renovation project is cost, and all these cost savings, from roof coatings, can result in project costs that are fifty (50) to seventy (70) percent less than traditional roof systems. And just like traditional roof systems, many of the coatings today are eligible for twenty-year "leak free" warranties. For some existing roofs, there really is no other intelligent choice but to go with a roof coating. Please review photos in our portfolio to see some of the projects we have worked on.
